This is not so much a “cool” news story, but one that outlines maybe something that many of us have not often wondered about: Where do the cool gadgets from major companies (in this particular case “Apple”) come from? And who actually is putting all this together?
Well we felt that it is important to show the not so glamourous side of gadgety by encouraging you all to have a look at this particular article that was written by Joel Johnson in conjunction with Wired Magazine and Gizmodo.
He has shown some interesting photos of what is the factory behind the shine. Whether or not you agree or disagree, whether you want to do something about it or not is completely irrelevant. The main thing now is that you are aware and educated.
Whilst Apple do make some fantastic products which we at Yeah its Pretty Cool use, it is a shame that there has to be nets placed at the bottom of apartment blocks to prevent the workers from committing suicide just so I can have the latest iPhone. Please keep in mind too, the Foxconn group manufactures more than just Apple products – they do other gadgetry as well.
If you have ever worked for a tech startup company, there are a few things that are always must have no matter how much revenue is coming in: Apple products, RedBull and foosball/ping pong table.
Now being on a start up budget, it doesn’t really allow you to go all out and drop big dollars on some of the tables we will show you below. However, they would probably make great incentives for your team. Some are very, very cool:
Cool Foosball Table
This one is extremely awesome with its LCD screens in built and cool paint job. Probably wouldn’t suit every office, but definitely worth it to do some promotional banners whilst in between games and for those bored clients waiting for their turn.
Futuristic Foosball Table
When you are a design student, there is no better way to get good marks than to take an existing piece of creation and remix the hell out of it like no one has before. After he finished his studies he went ahead and built some of these and you can now actually pre-order them at The Eleven Game. So you should go over and definitely get one. You will be the talk of the town. Guaranteed.
Longest Foosball Table
When 3 friends is not enough, you need one of these bad boys. It is the complete 11 on 11 per side. So for the corporate/startup environment, this is definitely the bit of gear that you need. We don’t know how you can go about and get one of these, or whether or not there is a company that specifically makes them. So if you find any, please let us know in the comments!
